PRP Treatments
YOUR OWN PLATELETS. YOUR BODY’S OWN RESOURCE.
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared from a small sample of your own blood. After processing, the platelet-rich portion is used as part of an individualized aesthetic treatment plan.
Collagen Support
Used as part of select skin-rejuvenation protocols.
Skin Quality
May be incorporated into treatments designed to improve the appearance of texture and tone.
Personalized
Because PRP comes from your own blood, your treatment begins with your individual needs and medical history.
What is platelet-rich plasma, PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma.
A small sample of your blood is collected and processed to separate the platelet-rich portion of the blood from the other components.
Platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors and proteins involved in the body’s normal healing processes. Your provider can then use the prepared PRP as part of an individualized aesthetic treatment.
YOUR OWN BLOOD. YOUR OWN BIOLOGY. YOUR SHE PLAN.
WHAT CAN PRP HELP WITH?
Hair Loss
PRP injections can be effective in treating male/female pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants.
Skin Rejuvenation
PRP injections are sometimes used as an anti-aging treatment for skin texture, skin tone, fine lines and overall skin quality.
Tendon, Ligament, Muscle and Joint Injuries
PRP injections may be able to treat a range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. For example, chronic tendon injuries such as tennis elbow or jumper's knee can often take a long time to heal, so adding PRP shots to a treatment regimen can help stimulate the healing process, decrease pain and enable to return to activities sooner.
Post-surgical Healing
Clinicians first used PRP to accelerate healing after jaw or plastic surgeries. Now, post-surgical PRP injections have expanded to help heal muscles, tendons and ligaments, as procedures on these tissues have notoriously long recovery times.
Osteoarthritis
Early studies indicate that PRP injections may help treat osteoarthritis pain and stiffness by modulating the joint environment and reducing inflammation, but research is growing.
EXPERIENCE PRP DIFFERENTLY AT SHE AESTHETICS
Choosing a provider for regenerative aesthetics is a decision rooted in trust. At SHE Aesthetics, we combine medical expertise, personalized treatment planning and a thoughtful approach to skin health to create an experience centered around you.
Medical Expertise & Precision
PRP is more than a trend - it's a medical treatment that requires proper assessment, preparation and technique. Our trained providers approach every treatment with attention to anatomy, safety and your individual goals.
Fully Customized Treatment Plans
Your skin is unique, and your PRP Treatment should be too. We begin with a thorough consultation to understand your concerns, evaluate your skin and determine whether PRP is appropriate for you.
A Regenerative Approach
PRP allows us to incorporate platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood into a personalized aesthetic treatment plan. When appropriate, PRP can be incorporated alongside treatments such as microneedling to support a comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenation.
Natural, Gradual Results
Our philosophy is simple: enhance your skin without trying to change who you are. PRP is designed around a gradual approach to skin rejuvenation, with treatment plans tailored to support healthier-looking, more refreshed skin overtime.
PRP + MICRONEEDLING
TWO APPROACHES. ONE SKIN-REJUVENATION PLAN.
For appropriate patients, PRP may be incorporated into a microneedling-based skin-rejuvenation treatment plan.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing response. Your provider will determine whether combining PRP with your microneedling treatment is appropriate for you.
WHO MAY BE A CANDIDATE?
PRP may be considered for adults looking to incorporate a regenerative approach into their aesthetic skincare plan.
During your consultation, your provider will review your:
- Skin concerns
- Treatment goals
- Medical history
- Medications
- Overall health
- Previous aesthetic treatments
PRP isn’t appropriate for everyone. Your provider will determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER PRP?
PRP treatments can involve temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising depending on the treatment technique and area treated.
Your provider will explain what to expect based on your specific treatment and provide individualized aftercare instructions.
Results develop differently from person to person and may require a series of treatments depending on your goals.
CONSISTENCY MATTERS.
Your provider may recommend a series of treatments or combination approach based on your skin and desired outcome.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does PRP use my own blood?
Yes. PRP is prepared from a sample of your own blood.
How long does a PRP treatment take?
Treatment time varies depending on the treatment area and whether PRP is being combined with another procedure.
Is there downtime?
Some temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur. Your provider will discuss expected downtime based on your treatment.
When will I see results?
Results vary. PRP is intended to support gradual changes in skin quality rather than provide an immediate dramatic transformation.
How many treatments will I need?
That depends on your skin, goals and treatment protocol. Your provider will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
Can PRP be combined with other treatments?
Potentially. PRP may be incorporated into a broader skin-rejuvenation plan, including certain microneedling protocols, when appropriate.
Is PRP right for me?
The best way to determine that is through a consultation. Your provider will evaluate your goals, medical history and skin before recommending treatment.
